The game as a whole and Ret seem to be trending upwards in the next expansion but there are things still need work in my opinion. Holy paladin gameplay is very reliant on cooldowns that you get closer to endgame.

Holy Paladin Legendary Powers in Shadowlands There are four spec specific Legendary Powers available to Holy Paladins, bringing the total number of Legendary Power options to eight if you play Holy. Consider removing Divine Steed from the class as a whole and reintroducing either Pursuit of Justice, Long Arm of the Law, or Emancipate. You can spam chains and let your dots/pets do the work while you kite. You can also use it to keep track of your completed quests, recipes, mounts, companion pets, and titles! It’s definitely a late bloomer spec, and I think if you get it to a higher level you might start to enjoy it more :)
