Google puts restrictions on what vendors can do in their forks and does some policing, but there’s nothing like that for aftermarket operating systems. I’d like to find the right balance between net privacy and convenience and am willing to take the time to learn new applications, but I am scared to take the jump into Linux or other drastic measures because I’m afraid I’d break something or lose a lot of convenient functionality.
